DENIM WASTE SOLUTIONS
see it on the runway
After learning about the consequences denim production has on people and our planet, I couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that no one was doing anything to fix this crisis. Everything is a giving and take energy exchange. Having empathy and compassion for the person that makes your clothes doesn’t mean you have to be a human rights activist or an environmentalist. It is important to know that overconsumption habits have to change before it is too late. I believe we all have a choice and my intention is to influence all to think before you buy. The final goal is to preserve the world and take care of the people in it.
With the emergence of many new sustainable denim brands, sustainable fashion coalitions, and initiatives, there is no doubt that the fashion industry needs a clean-up; and denim, in particular, has been under attack for being one of the worst offenders. 6 BILLION jeans are produced a year, and 30% (1.8 billion jeans) never actually get worn or used.
