I created this collection while quite literally going through a metamorphosis transformation, which can be a very vulnerable state. I was experiencing grief and wanted to do something with the hard emotions and energy around me by transmuting it into something else. Creating this collection allowed me to express instead of bearing emotions in my body. Transformation is inevitable as you grow into your most beautiful empowered self. Indeed, you will go through some uncomfortable stages as you let go of the forms of your life that no longer fit the new you.

This drop was a little bit different. I wanted to release a few one of a kind pieces before the summer. Most pieces are up-cycled from pre loved clothes, which helps us reuse the clothing that is already on this planet, or with scrap pieces from my first collection. I also created reusable tote bags made from bamboo cotton with the intention for people use less plastic bags.

I created this tote bag design on Adobe Illustrator with the intention to always be a reminder that no matter what is thrown at us in this life we can always get through it and heal with LOVE.

I chose to add a butterfly as I was having a lot of changes in my life at the time. The butterfly is a reminder that transformation is our superpower. Butterflies teach us the importance of change and that, in order to become something great, you must be patient and have faith.

This was my very first collection, it is a representation of exploring my creativity and not having expectations with what comes out of it. By looking back at this I am able to reflect on not only my outward growth with my sewing skills but also the growth I’ve done inward; since launching Inward Summer 2021.
